GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY
JOHN H.OSORIO SCHOLARSHIP
John was a dedicated bright and young man who loved performing in high school musicals and plays. He wanted to continue his college education focusing on drama/acting however being the first generation of immigrant parents—his dream would not be accepted. Instead John went off to study computer science and had a short successful career in IT with IBM until he became ill at the young age of twenty-five. Today we continue to remember him in our family and the best way to honor him has been supporting high school students who wish to continue their college education in the arts whether performing or fine arts. John H. Osorio scholarship goes to students who have a love and passion for the arts whether it’s performing or fine arts and plan on continuing their education in the arts. We hope to give out this school year 2022-2023 a total of 5 scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 each.
Interested students must meet the following criteria:
- ● Good academic standing (C or better)
- ● Good attendance in school
- ● Be actively involved in the arts (performing or fine arts) in or outside of the high school
- Those students meeting the criteria will need to apply to (drinkthinkhousellc@gmail.com) by submitting an essay in PDF format answering the following questions no later than March 15, 2023. Please make sure your High School’s name and address are on the Essay along with your full name and the name of your Guidance Counselor.
- Tell us what is your artistic passion?
- How do you plan on continuing your education in that art?
- How do you plan on making this dream come true?
- Why do you feel you are deserving of this scholarship?
- The names of recipients of the scholarship awards will be forwarded to the school officials along with the check in the amount of the award they are receiving.
- Any questions, please feel free to reach out to Paula Guzman-Bell at (732)814-8487 or via email drinkthinkhousellc@gmail.com.
